Our Story

One family of makers, three generations deep.

Leila's began the way the best things do — quietly, at a kitchen table. What started as a grandmother’s crochet has grown into a small family studio in Markham, Ontario, where three generations now make by hand: heirloom crochet, knitwear and healing gemstone jewellery, small-batch natural skincare and body care blended with botanical oils, and original art prints from our own print studio.

Nothing here is mass-produced. Every piece is made in small batches with natural materials, real ingredients, and the kind of care that only comes from making things for the people you love. This is slow craft — honest, handmade, and built to be kept.

Ellie, the grandmother, has been making things her whole life — from a children’s clothing atelier in Iran to silk Charleston dresses with a year-long waiting list. Today she crochets heirloom blankets, dresses and lace in silk and cotton, and strings healing gemstone jewellery: necklaces, malas and chokers in semi-precious stones chosen for their traditional meanings. Leila, the daughter, blends the skincare — facial oils, hair oil, soaps and toners, made with botanical oils and nothing you can’t pronounce. And the newest room in the house is our little print studio, where original designs are being readied for art prints and everyday things.

Almost everything in the shop is one of a kind. When a piece sells, it is simply gone — there is no production line waiting to make another. If something speaks to you but isn’t quite right, we take custom orders too: a blanket in your colours, a dress in your size, a necklace strung for someone you love. Made-to-order pieces take time, because the slow way is the only way we know.

Everything ships from our home studio in Markham, Ontario — free across Canada on orders over $100, with flat-rate shipping to the United States. Each order is wrapped by hand and paid for through secure checkout. And if you have a question about a piece, a stone’s meaning, or what might suit the person you’re buying for, write to us — you’ll always get a person, never a script. Wondering how to care for a crochet heirloom, which facial oil suits your skin, or how long a custom piece takes? Our Help & FAQ page answers the questions we hear most often.
